Editing Text

In this article, we’ll show you how to create your own text in our designer and customize existing text templates. Text is an essential part of your sticker album, whether it's for titles, descriptions, or personal notes. Here’s a step-by-step guide on how to create new text fields, enter and adjust text, along with useful tips and tricks for optimal use of the text tools.

Creating a New Text Field

Using the text field function in the element toolbar on the right, you can create a new text field. You can create text fields in two ways:

  • Click on the "T" in the toolbar: Simply click the "T" symbol in the toolbar to create a new text field that appears in the top-left corner of the current page in the album.
  • Drag-and-drop: Hold down the left mouse button on the "T" symbol and drag it to the desired spot on the page. This allows you to place the text field exactly where you want it.

Writing Text

  • Duplicate: Alternatively, you can copy and paste an existing text field (ctrl + c and ctrl + v).

To write in the text field, simply click on it in the album to select it. Double-click on the blue text field to enable text input. Once the text field is outlined in green, you can type in the text and make adjustments. Alternatively, you can click the "Edit Text" button in the menu above the selected element (on the far left). This also enables text input and lets you edit the text.

Editing Text

Just like in any text program, you can adjust various aspects of your text to customize it to your liking:

  • Font: Choose from a variety of fonts to achieve the desired style.
  • Font size: Adjust the font size to improve readability or highlight specific sections of text.
  • Line spacing: Change the line spacing to make the text more readable and visually appealing.
  • Text style: Use bold, italic, or all caps to emphasize important points or add stylistic flair.
  • Text color: Choose from various colors or use a specific HEX code to match your corporate identity guidelines.
  • Text alignment: Align the text to the left, center, right, or justify it to optimize the layout.

You can cut, copy, and paste text within the designer just like in common text programs. Use the standard keyboard shortcuts.

For Businesses

If you want to implement specific corporate identity guidelines, you can select your exact colors using HEX codes for text colors. If your font(s) are not available in the designer, feel free to email us at support@stickerstars.de. Our team will help integrate the desired fonts into the designer so your album meets professional standards.

Pro Tip: Editing with Zoom

The recommended font size for body text in your album is 12 to ensure that text appears "large enough" in the printed album. However, in the standard zoom of the designer, texts may sometimes appear hard to read and edit. To write and edit text more clearly, zoom into the working area of your album.

Automatic Texts

Some text fields cannot be directly edited—these are called "automatic texts." These text fields display dynamic values to make designing your album easier. Automatic texts are especially useful as they update themselves, saving you a lot of manual work.

Table of Contents

A great example of an automatic text is the table of contents. When you add a text field with the automatic text "Table of Contents" to your album, it automatically fills with the current chapter order and corresponding page numbers. You don't have to worry about manually creating or updating the table of contents; any changes you make to the chapters will be automatically reflected in the table of contents.

Chapter and Album Names

Similarly, the chapter names and album name are automatically updated. If you change the name of a chapter, it will automatically update in all corresponding text fields in the album. The same applies to the album name, ensuring that the information is accurate and consistent throughout.

Page Numbers

Another useful example of automatic texts is page numbers. Text fields with automatic page numbers will adjust according to the page numbering of your album. Whether you add, move, or delete pages, the page numbers in the automatic text fields will always display correctly.
